The Greenbelt

Bounded by the natural obstacles of a spur of the Tors of Levenies on the east and on the west by Hookstongue Slough and with few native dangerous creatures, the Greenbelt is generally considered the least dangerous of the four unofficially recognized “sections” of the Stolen Lands.

The western half of the Greenbelt is dominated by the Narlmarches, a heavily wooded area known to locals as the Old Margreve. The name Narlmarches actually traces its roots back to Taldan explorers who were repeatedly stymied by the gnarled roots and branches of the forest’s close-growing trees. Locals attribute the defeat of Taldan settlers and armies alike to the antipathy of the forest itself.

The eastern half of the Greenbelt is dominated by the Kamelands, a region of rolling hills and chest-high grasses. The Kamelands rise gradually to the east, eventually stopping suddenly at the Tors of Levenies, which push up out of the ground like an impossibly high wall.
