The first day of a planned 3 day carnival designed to alleviate the townspeoples’ restlessness after the long, hard winter.

Unfortunately for the residents of the city, the Carnival, corrupted by the Cold Rider and enchanted by the powerful Eye of Rapture, resulted in 300 deaths and unwilling transformations. Members of the Council and the Five Kings were able to defeat the Cold Rider in less than 2 hours, preventing any more deaths.

The city mourned for a month and the Council declared 22 Abadius a holiday, Remembrance Day, to commemorate the tragedy and celebrate the lives of the dead.

The Charter
After days of travel, the Charter talked their way into the Stag Lord’s fort. They discovered unrest among the bandits and found that the Stag Lord’s lieutenant, Akiros Ismort, was disgusted with the situation and ready to overthrow the bandit lord. Surprising him in his bed, the Charter fought and killed the fierce Stag Lord, with Akiros taking grievous damage.

After regrouping, the Charter went in search of Dovan of Nisroch, another of the Stag Lord’s lieutenants, but did not find him asleep. Glain Nimblefoot went scouting for the bandit lieutenant and killed him in single combat at the cost of his own life.

With these two dead and Akiros sworn to penance and service, the bandit threat in the Greenbelt was broken.

The Five Kings
After being rudely awakened by shouts in the night, the adventurers fought a monster made of living wood and tracked it back to its lair- or perhaps its master- and fought an evil, sentient tree.

Sunset: 10:20 PM (twilight ended at 12:59 AM next day)

The Charter
After leaving the mites’ lair, the Charter journeyed south with Mikmek, where they were dropped into a conflict between the kobolds’ chieftan, Chief Sootscale, and the tribe’s shaman, Tartuk. Siding with the Chief, the party fought kobolds loyal to the shaman and finally the purple-scaled shaman himself. Tartuk turned out to be a summoner with a demonic monster for a pet. While the Charter put down the monster, Tartuk escaped their wrath.

While investigating Tartuk’s quarters the heroes discovered from the summoner’s journal that Tartuk hadn’t been born a kobold, but was a crazed, depressed gnome reincarnated into the body of a kobold. The evil summoner went on a campaign of deception and manipulation designed to force tribes of kobolds into fights they could not win, resulting in their destruction.

The Charter struck a treaty with the kobolds that recognized the tribe’s sovereign status and struck up a mercantile agreement between the tribe and the Charter.

The Five Kings
The adventurers trekked through the Margreve to the shifter village of Levoca, becoming aware of the villagers plight and the maddened state of the forest in the region.

The Charter

Chasing down Svetlana’s wedding ring, the Charter headed south to the reputed home of the mites, an Old Sycamore towering over the hills of the western edge of the Kamelands. On the way there they stumbled across the den of a mated pair of kamadan, who stalked the Charter out of their hunting range. While scouting the den, Glain noticed a vein of gold in the cave wall, promising at a rich strike should anyone mine there.

The Charter headed southeast from the possible gold mine to the Old Sycamore, where they found an entrance into the cramped tunnels of the mites’ lair and freed the kobold Mikmek from his torture and captivity and fought the ferocious mite chieftan Grabbles and his mighty giant tick mount Tickleback.

Five Kings

Outfitted with one of Súrion’s magical map making boxes, the Five Kings headed south to hunt down Tuskgutter. Instead of finding the deadly boar, though, the adventurers stumbled across a shambling mound that nearly killed the magus Kai. After a close victory they discovered a patch of healing mushrooms and headed to the close-by Thorn River Camp to heal and rest.

While resting, a lost shifter girl stumbled into their camp and after hearing about the strange goings on back at her village, Levoca, they agreed to take her home through the strange and perilous forest.

Another warm, clear day.

Sunrise: 4:43 AM (twilight began at 2:03 AM)
Sunset: 10:19 PM (twilight ended at 12:59 AM next day)

The party woke at Oleg’s Trading Post after a peaceful night and traveled to the Applewood to investigate the thieves who had been raiding the Bunce farm. Their new fey friends Pearlie and Tigger led them to a tiny brownie village, where the Charter met a pair of brownies, Fran and Rool.

The Charter followed the trail of clues from the brownies to a talking owl, from the owl to a polluted stream where an ancient treant had taken root. After a great deal of effort, they woke the sleepy Finglas and convinced him to move out of the stream up onto the bank but promised in return to come back the next spring to find and care for the treant’s offspring.

On returning to Oleg’s Trading Post, the Charter discovered a new group of adventurers had moved into the Greenbelt. Unlike the Black Banners, the Five Kings were amenable to working with the Charter as they all worked to explore the wild Margreve and the surrounding region.

After a surprisingly good night’s sleep, the Charter, along with Byron and Yolan, made their way through the forest and back to Oleg’s Trading Post to check in and regroup. They found that Burke d’Magnon had started reinforcing the defenses around the Post, using the captured bandits for labor.

The Charter discovered that the Swordlords of Restov had sent forces to defend Oleg’s Trading Post in the form of a small unit of Bloodstone Swords. Led by Kesten Garess and his second, Dragan Tomislav, the 8 mercenaries should be a capable force, especially behind the Oleg’s tall, strong walls.

The Charter were alerted to thieves in the Applewood when they visited the Bunce poultry farm. While investigating, they discovered strange drawings of labyrinths and horned men in the wood. They also encountered a pair of mischievious fey, Pearlie the faerie dragon and Tigger the grig, who agreed to watch the farm overnight.
